Anyone ever run a 17inch Rim with 205 tyre?? Does it scrub??

As the title states,

Anyone ever run a 205 tire and did it scrub and could you turn ect,
Just looking at a set of rims that came off a Honda integra

No scrubbing whatsoever. Feels almost OEM. Wink

It depends on the offset of the wheel, I've had 215's in there with rubbing

It's a 17 inch wheel with a 40 tire, no idea on offset he doesn't know

40 profile will be sweet but it still all on the offset

Hmm I'll have to do some research on integra offsets, what's the offset for a 95 ae101 5door hatch??

Are the wheels off a Honda? Honda Toyota offsets are the same from memory. If they didn't rub on the Integra then you should be sweet cheers

Yeh apparently they came off a 91 Honda integra and they apparently fit no problems

If they do rub a littke you can always roll the guards a little Smile

Yeh, he said that it says the numbers 100, 60 and p42 on the inside of the rim

i dont think integra wheels will fit, integra pcd will be 4 x 114 whilst corolla pcd is 4 x 100.

also i used to run 17s on mine with 205/40 tyres, used to scrub with a full car

He said it was 100mm between hole centers, and I think integras were 4x100 in the early model (he has a 91) and they went to 114 after 99'

He also told me they were too small for his corona which is 114

what wheels are they? make & model so you can check the ofset of the alloys

i would say that 34 - 38 would be ideal

They were csa brand, but I have decided against them as they were 3 hours away and $300 bucks, let alone I couldn't find out the offset, and he "thinks" it measures around 50mm

Guess its back to looking for wheels, exhaust and bars for me haha

This all depends on wheel width and offset.
if its stretched, you could get away with lower offset, if its normal fitment, then you would need almost stock offset.

I had 205/40 on a 9"wheel. Gives soo much more space compared to not stretched.

205/40/17 +42 (I think) here, low springs, no scrubbing unless the car is loaded to the max

I also had 205/40/17 and 40 offset with 2 inch lowering and never rubbed once.

I run a set of 205/40/17's on my 1994 AE101 FX Gt with no issues at all
My car is lowered slightly
