My name is Mario and I am the proud owner of a 1997 Corolla DX 1.8.
I'm not an expert modifier, not a mechanic, hell I'm barely learning the names of the mechanical parts on my car. My father was a mechanic but I never bothered to learn from him. Now I am becoming interested in cars, particularly 90's cars; I love em!
My car has no after market parts at this moment. I would like to start modifying it as it is very very slow imo. If I can enhance the performance even by a little I'd be happy. Is there a guide anyone can refer me to on how to start modifying this specific car from scratch?
I've been doing research about catback exhausts, cold air intakes, performance chips, headers, and many other after market parts, but I can't get any solid answers as there seems to be an even split from people who recommend those upgrades and people who say it s a waste of time and money.
I live in California so an engine swap is not ideal, I would like to keep my engine or reconstruct it and just have it perform to its maximun capacity. Any tips?
Thank you in advanced.
