i need help here

Hi guys,i am from Portugal and i have a corolla 1993 xli, he came with 4efe and i swapped to 4afe. The 4afe cames from a Carina E uk with automatic transmission and the ECU too. The engine is running well with manual transmission but around the 5200 rpm he is cutting fuel. This engine should do 6700 rpm right? The MAF is off. could be this a kind of safe mode or something else?

I believe you are correct in saying it is a fail safe. You should swap for the manual ECU and harness. The reason you will need the harness is the connectors to the ECU will be different.
