Boot Creaking Noise?

Subject: Boot Creaking Noise? Wed Aug 24, 2011 12:10 am

Hey guys new to the forums here.
I'm hoping someone can help me out with a small problem i have with my E10.
It's a small creaking noise which seems to be coming from the back window.
Maybe its the rubber supporting the window or the window itself I'm not really sure. I only hear the noise as i drive.
It's a very small problem but quite annoying.
If anyone else has had this same problem what solution is there. Thanks for any help guys!

if its a hatchback could be the parcel shelf
take it out and drive the car and see is the noise still there

Its a Hatchback. Same shape as yours John. Nop not the parcel shelf already tried that. Seems to be the actual window itself or the rubber holding it in. Quite confused may try spraying some lubricant maybe that might help.

check there is nothing in the spare wheel well, get some one to sit in the back seat while you drive maybe get them to press on the glass to see if the noise stops also with someone in the back seat might be eaiser to see where the noise is

Yeah i'm going to have a look at it tomorrow remove the interior plastic panels maybe oil up some parts hopefully that will do the trick. John do you not have the same kind of problem? I thought it could be a corolla thing due to old age or something.. hmm. Thanks anyway.

Check these :

Rattle from rear door:
Dry rubber/plastics of rear door. Grease the plastic/rubber holders of the rear door AND where they touch the part mounted on the body.

Rattle/knocking from rear (noisy knocking on non-flat roads) :
Rubber fittings of OEM swaybar worn. No expensive part, just replace by OEM new ones.
