ae101 is this a good car?

I really like the ae101 and im tired of the honda thing lol so are the ae101's fast were can i learn about them im thinking about getting one as my first car my dad is in the honda thing and i like it for a litle but i like the corolla can anyone tell me the pros and cons of this car?

the ae101 is a really good cars, reliable, lightweight (around 1050kg for a 4 door saloon isn't that bad), and parts are quite easy to find (stock not aftermarket)

fast.. yes, they came with a 4age 20v (1.6L, 160bhp) engine,
depends where you are to be honest though, as the ae101 with 4age wasn't available everywhere.

however there are countless swaps available for the ae101, i have a 3sge (2.0L, 196bhp after some modding) in mine currently which isn't bad for 20+ yr old toyota that was came out of the factory with 88bhp, but can easily fit a 3sgte (2.0L, 255bhp).

Yeah you can do pretty much anything with the AE101, include make it fast (it's slow stock lol)

Swap in a 4agze lol

and if you have the standar 1.6l or 1.8 and don`t want to change engine , you can swap the jdm gearbox from a 1.6 4age og 4agze. it have the top speed at 180kmh insted of the 220-240kmh ( 1.6 4afe will go to 220 kmh in 3 minutes with full thottel , takes LOOOOOOOOONG time after 180kmh )
p.s. I tested this in germany on the autoban ( no speed limit road )

edit : i think its the same with 1.3l 4efe, if you get a jdm 4efte ( turbo 1.3l ) the top speed will be 180 kmh .

you pick up speed faster with this gearboxes becuse og the gear`s inside are diffrent

basic principle to making it go faster without an engine swap would be to reduce weight

Ok yeah but from what I have been reading stock engine is not very fast so I will have to reduce a lot of weight but also later on I will most likely do a swap with a 4age or a 3sgte

over all an excellent car owned 2 sold one and kept one since 1994
