I am buying a new car at the end of the year and thinking of turing my ae101 into a drift car because lets be honest who drifts a ae101 but anyway ive realized a rwd conversion is possible by running some s13 parts diff ect but i was thinking of doing a twin turbo 1jz conversion because i prefer the power of the stright six over the stright 4 sr20det but i have being looking around there are people who have said it has being done but no real evedance pics etc does anyone know anything like this being done before?

I like the idea , there have been a good few have fitted 4wd from a gt4 into them . So the rear would seem easy to do if you wanted to fit a gt4 rear end and then your left with having to make a new tunnel for the new engine and box along with all other fab work .

There's a few 4wd Corolla's that were converted from just fwd. I don't know of anyone personally rwding a Corolla, but I'll let others chime in on that.

Would be an awesome swap but be prepared to spend a Shite ton of money, you'll have to cut a huge arse hole in the firewall. and weld in a big transmission tunnel. The JZ is a lot lot longer than an sr as well. I'd say the 1JZ sitting north-south would also mess with the weight balance of the car. You're better off just buying a rwd, but if you got the time and money go for it.

however it has been done before, but someone used a 2jz instead of a 1jz
