DIY OEM Integra front lip to usdm bumper

first off, this isnt the best DIY write up ever so a lot of it will be written out.

so youll need some power tools like a skill saw, grinder, and/or a lot of patience.

i got the lip off a 96 integra at the junkyard for $10

first cut out the weird center part



should look like this



then youll want to cut the other parts that stick up so it will be completely flat across the top and look like a normal lip

now youll have to cut off the part that sticks out if you're looking down at it (lip sitting on the ground as if its on the car) so it will sit flush against the bumper

flip it over and cut off most of the excess splash shield. i cut a lot of mine off so the lip would have some flex if i needed it since i didnt know how all this would work out. you're almost done now.



next you will use the grinder to shave off all the little tabs on the inside of the lip. there will be these weird plastic things that nothing attaches to that you'll need to shave off as well cause if you dont it wont sit flush against the bumper.

now with some double sided tape and some self tapping screws you can mount it up and it should look something like this

Wow, that came out looking a LOT better than I thought it would! Great job. Is it possible to straighten it out a bit better, or is that the consequence of cutting so much of it off? It should look good painted.

yes ishaq, thats what comes on the usdm teg from the factory.

and the pics i posted arent the final results. there was a little tweaking here and there that needed to be done. this isnt a permanent lip. it was just something to do as a brother brother weekend project. we did a light sanding and spray painted it white. it still looks terrible but im going to find one thats in better shape and do a better job and take my time now that we know it can be done.
