Just thought Id share some pics on the new project I am going to attempt. I plan to get this thing running asap for this winter then to do a proper restore over next summer. I am restoring a 1989 Motoski Safari Scout. I think it was running last year for a bit, but it is in rough shape. All the parts are there I believe, just needs some TLC. Heres some pics:

So thats it as it currently sits. Things wrong with it: Busted rear shocks, water in fuel, engine bay covered in leaves and ice, messy wiring, needs carb cleaned, new primer pump, new oil filter and needs a new seat to start with. but first, I need to go make sure the engine will turn over, though I will probably need to get a new pull start assembly because the cord is probably weathered n torn. I just want to drive it

Oh wooooow that really is in rough shape all over! But it would be so cool to get it running! I tell you what, as awesome as everything in Iceland was, my 1 hour of snowmobiling across a vast glacier at 60 MPH was by far the best thing ever!

That would be fun indeed! I miss sleding and am eager to get out and ride some trails, but like you said, it has seen better days lol. Should be a fun project though.

You should of seen my old snowmobile that I ended up selling. It was pretty much just an engine with a bunch of twisted metal around it and a seat lol. The throttle would stick constantly and I crashed it so many times. Had lots of fun though

Its actually not as bad as shape as I thought, theres still hope: After lots of digging/hacking I freed the skis from the ground.

What a mess, should of done this in the summer so all the leaves werent frozen in ice to everything lol. but I started right away with exhaust removal to give me some more room to work and make sure there were no debris or mouse nest in it.

Thats after scraping the ice out lol just to give an idea of how cold and icy it is.
